Artist Spotlight: Jake Lloyd

Jake Lloyd grew up in Round Rock, Texas just 20 minutes outside of Austin in a musically inclined family.  His father and grandfather sang in the church and his grandmother was a professionally trained organ and piano player. Growing up Jake listened to eclectic artists like Rick James and Prince, which would later shape his one-of-a-kind sound.

In 2010, Lloyd met producer and future bandmate Danny Saldivar II known as DSII. The two would continue to collaborate and create their own unique sound by fusing multiple genres together.  In 2018, the singer/songwriter released his debut self-titled album, and just one year later he dropped Moonlit Mornings and  followed  up in 2020 with the EP called Lloyd Pack which featured the hit “Crossroading.”

As for 2021, he has already created a buzz by collaborating with Bastrop’s finest Deezie Brown for the EP Geto Gala which is undoubtedly a beautiful work of art.  The Austin native was KUTX’s Artist of the Month in July of 2020. He was nominated for the Best/Soul R&B Artist for the 2020 Austin Music Awards and reached a deal with ESPN’s Longhorn Network to have his songs played.  Jake Lloyd continues to thrive and captivate audiences with his limitless talents and genre-crossing abilities all while using his platform and his voice to create positive changes for musicians of color.
