Fun Fun Fun Fest started on a whim in 2006, but it’s always lived up to its name with an eclectic mix of music, comedy, and extreme sports. This week on the Austin Music Experience, we take a look at the just-announced lineup for 2014, which includes Nas, the New Pornographers, and Alt-J, and we ask the Fest’s Graham Williams how the heck they got Judas Priest (it involves a briefcase of rattlesnake skins, y’all!). In a few weeks, Austin host the X Games for the first time, with dozens of bands scheduled to perform as part of the festivities. We’ve got a live music mix to get you ready, featuring exclusive recordings from Gary Clark Jr., Black Pistol Fire, My Jerusalem, and more. Plus, back and forth with Sharon Van Etten—one from the archives and something from her new record. Join us Friday at noon and again at 11pm on KUTX 98.9.
