Important Event Details

ADMISSION: Free!

LOCATION: Girard Kinney Park at Mueller (formerly Mueller Lake Park), 4550 Mueller Boulevard, Austin, 78723

GETTING THERE: Bussing is a great option! CapMetro busses 20, 10, and 350 all go through Mueller. Check CapMetro’s schedule for info and updates. Need to drive? Hourly parking is available in the McBee Garage across from the Thinkery, and metered City of Austin spaces are also available around the park.

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Water to drink
  • A blanket for sitting on the lawn, or stadium cushions (a.k.a., what we called “sit upons” at camp). Mueller likes to keep things natural so, whatever you chose to bring, we recommend it be thick enough to stand up to Texan sticker burrs.
  • If you plan to bring children, we strongly recommend that you also bring hearing protection for them. Forgot your hearing protection? Swing by the KUTX tent for a pair of free disposable earplugs (while supplies last), compliments of our supporters at RK Audiology.
  • If you plan to bring pets, they must be on leashes.
  • You may bring coolers, but please note that glass containers are not permitted.

WHAT NOT TO BRING: Chairs, glass containers (you heard us), alcohol, and off-leash animals are all prohibited.

FOOD OPTIONS: There are restaurants around the park, and some food trucks may remain open at the hangar. You’re also welcome to bring a picnic dinner.

PARK ETIQUETTE:

  • Please don’t block the view. The concrete area in front of the stage is the Dell Children’s Kids’ Dance Zone. For the sake of people sitting on the lawn, we ask that adults not stand in the area around the stage. If your child is on the concrete and you want to monitor or accompany them, we just ask that you keep as low a profile as is feasible. Ear protection for children is strongly recommended.
  • Please help us keep the park clean. Limited recycling and trash will be available onsite. Please help us to leave the park as tidy as we found it, so that the generous residents of Mueller will continue to invite KUTX back for more concerts. If you bring it in, please take it out!
  • Mind your intake. Our sponsors sometimes offer free alcoholic beverages to adults 21+. For the safety of all, please mind your intake of alcohol. Had too much? Come see us at the KUTX tent and we’ll help you figure out a safe way to get home.

ACCESSIBILITY: KUTX reserves a visibly-marked bench at the perimeter of the amphitheater for anyone who needs seating due to limited mobility, including pregnancy. ASL interpreters will be onsite to interpret as much of the scheduled performers’ content as possible. If you need additional accommodations or have concerns, please reach out.

LOST KIDS: If you’re bringing kids, establish a meeting point should you become separated. We recommend the KUTX tent as a meeting point, and our hosts point it out during stage announcements. KUTX staff/volunteers will remain with your child at the tent until you are located. A sign onstage lets grown-ups know when there’s a missing child at our tent. This event is near a lake and roads, and is not fenced.

FIRST AID & EMERGENCIES: Got a boo-boo? First Aid is available at the KUTX tent. KUTX employs a medic and security for all Rock the Park concerts.

WEATHER: If inclement weather is expected prior to a concert, KUTX will cancel the event no later than 9 A.M. the day of the show. Please check our website for updates. Once the event is underway, KUTX will stop the show if lightning is reported less than 6 miles away, even if there is no rain. In these instances, we will request that attendees leave the park and seek shelter indoors.
