All this week, KUTX is highlighting the “Ones To Watch”–seven must-see artists at SXSW 2014.
Emily Wolfe’s 2012 debut was largely acoustic, but the Austin native has recently dialed it up a notch by adding a full band. Last year she linked up with Mike McCarthy, a producer who’s worked with Spoon and Patty Griffin. The pair produced two EPs – the amped-up Mechanical Hands and the quieter Night & Day. Though she likes her softer side, Wolfe admits she’s having too much fun with her band. Take a listen to her profile below, and catch Wolfe and her band at SXSW 2014:
Tuesday, Mar 11: Cheer Up Charlies, 1:30pm
Thursday, Mar 13: Esther’s Follies, 11:00-11:40pm (official showcase)
