Friday, August 10th – Shane Bartell w/ Mono in Stereo [$7 Advance – $8 Door]

Following the release of 2006’s “Too Soon to Say” and the subsequent tour, Shane Bartell decided to take a few years away from performing and concentrate on song writing and just living life. “Too Soon to Say” was included on a bevy of local and national top 10 lists, but after 2 solid years promoting the album, Bartell was burned out. Now back with a new batch of songs and a new album “The Art Of Departure”, he brings his long time band back to the Cactus Cafe for a night of soaring melodies and rousing choruses.

Mono in Stereo: Mono is Stereo is the new psychedelic art-pop project led by longtime Austin-based drummer and multi-instrumentalist Stephen Bres. After spending a decade+ playing drums with many great Austin artists, like Shane Bartell, Chris Brecht, The Jellydots, Honeybrowne, and The Plastic Habit, Bres took some time away from music to start a legal career and a family. Now, with Mono in Stereo, he is reemerging onto the scene as a frontman with a new band.
