KUTX Social Distancing Pop-Up: Annabelle Chairlegs

NPR LIVE SESSIONS/KUTX  – Produced by Jorge Sanhueza-Lyon – Shot in East Austin July 2020

Featured recently on KUTX Song of the Day, producer Jack Anderson says it best, that Annabelle Chairlegs “harness the energy of Janis Joplin, Iggy & The Stooges, Spencer Davis Group, Led Zeppelin, MC5, Quicksilver Messenger Service, and Jefferson Airplane all at once.”
Formed in 2014 after Lindsey Makin and Mark Williams moved to Austin from Santa Fe, the psych band put out their debut album Watermelon Summer a year later and by 2017 the band was booked for Austin City Limits Festival prompting us to invite them for our KUTX Live at the Four Seasons broadcast.
We connected with Lindsey Makin of Annabelle Chairlegs to record these two songs on the East Side of Austin in July 2020 – “Missing You,” an unreleased song, and “For No One” from 2015’s Watermelon Summer. Makin says, “We have never really played it live until recently and I’ve been enjoying reconnecting with it and giving it some new life and meaning.”
– Deidre Gott, Live Music Booker/Producer

Gotta Be In Love, the second album from Annabelle Chairlegs is out September 1st, 2020.
