Taking their name from a poem in the children’s novel Alice in Wonderland, Austin band All In A Golden Afternoon parlays the heady themes from that classic text into delightfully twisted psychedelic pop. The husband/wife duo Rachel Staggs and Carlos Jackson use all that psychedelic subject matter to explore everything from instrumental soundscapes on songs like “Ghosts of Moravia” to monotone drone on “The Fear & The Flame”. All In A Golden Afternoon stopped by Studio 1A to give us a sample of their new record, The Fog is Filled With Spirits, before they take part in the upcoming SXSW Music Conference and Festival. Enjoy their session in the player below.
