Amanda Mora at KUTX 7.24.13

Texas native Amanda Mora is not only a talented songwriter and musician, but she’s also a producer, engineer, and performer. She grew up with her musical family in the Texas hill country, and she is a classically trained musician and guitar player. She self-produced her debut album called “The Ribbon” and tours across the US and Europe with dynamic cellist Mollie Fischer. Though their music falls in the singer/songwriter category, there are bluegrass and jazz influences evident throughout the tunes. Another of Mora’s accomplishments includes a zero-emissions, 6,000-mile music tour on bicycle across Europe that she helped spearhead. Mora was one of the 100 artists who performed at Europe’s many music festivals throughout the tour, which was known as The Pleasant Revolution.

Check out Mora’s imaginative, colorful songwriting on her newest self-produced album, “Awaiting the Sound,” and you catch her at the One-2-One bar in Austin on Saturday evening. She also stopped by our studio Wednesday, July 24th and you can listen to her performance right here on KUTX! Be sure to check it out!
