Anton Nel 2.23.16

A year in the life of internationally acclaimed pianist Anton Nel goes something like this: attend day job as head of the Division of Keyboard Studies at the University of Texas Austin; play about sixty to seventy-five concerts a season in cities ranging from San Francisco, Chicago, to Seattle; teach as a visiting professor at the Manhattan School of Music, tour in China, and in the summer, teach at the Aspen Music Festival and the Ravinia Festival in Chicago. He is a busy man. Nonetheless, John Aieli got Mr. Nel into Studio 1A this week for an interview and a few songs.

Anton Nel is performing Saint-Saens Piano Concerto No. 5 “Egyptian” at the Austin Symphony on February 26th and 27th.
