Brennen Leigh and Noel McKay were both successful solo artists before embarking on their new duet project, and they release their debut collaboration album Before the World Was Made this month. Leigh grew up playing in a family band in Minnesota before moving to Austin, attracted to the thriving music scene, while McKay fronted band The McKay Brothers before joining with Leigh. The album is a mixture of songs that McKay wrote a few years ago and some songs that the two wrote together. Their modern-day country duets are romantic, witty, and fun, and these two musicians complement each other beautifully.
They play the Continental Club on Tuesday, September 24, and Waterloo Records on September 25, so you have plenty of chances to catch them while they’re in town! Leigh and McKay joined us in our studio for a live performance this week, and you can listen to it right here!
