BUHU 1.21.16

The Austin, TX trio BUHU mix angular math rock guitar melodies, a heavy hitting rhythm section, and twinkling synth pop arpeggiator textures into an intoxicating aural collage.  Their recently released debut album, Relationshapes, blasts off with the possessing grooves on “Get Down” and “Daytona Beach” and glides into their single “Youth is Breaking” which resembles a spaced out, catchier Don Caballero. Overall, they sound a little like Minus the Bear if you could dance to them, or Battles if they decided to write pop songs. Listen to the set BUHU played for us at Studio 1A here, or see their album release/tour kickoff show this Friday at Cheer Up Charlie’s.
