Austin trio Charlie Faye & The Fayettes combine 60s and 70s inspired melodies with modern messages. The result is soulful, retro-pop music that is sure to put a swing in your step. Charlie Faye’s lyrics are enhanced by the harmonies of BettySoo and Akina Adderley, creating a girl group sound that is reminiscent of the Ronnettes. With their second album, The Whole Shebang, the group hopes to expand their vintage sound, just as the music of the 60s transitioned to the 70s. With the new album set to release Feb. 8 (followed by a release show at the Continental Club that same night), Charlie Faye & The Fayettes paid a visit to Studio 1A.
