Everyone over at KUTX thought it was just another normal day, when during a Studio 1A performance, our beloved John Aielli commented on Dave Madden’s outfit, “In his linen outfit, he’s wearing linen pants, linen vest, linen scarf — he’s Mr. Linen.” However, it was no ordinary day as it marked the origins of Mr. Linen. Dave Madden alongside musicians/producers David Messier & Andre Cantave proceeded to sample John’s quirky remark to create a charming tribute in their song, “Mr. Linen”.
Fortunately, the three masterminds behind Mr. Linen, stopped by Studio 1A to play “Mr. Linen” as well as play a few other originals. The full performance can be heard in the links below. However, come join us this Sunday, July 31st from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Hotel Van Zandt for the official song & video release of “Mr. Linen”. Come dressed in your best and breeziest linen, and perhaps you could be crowned as the party’s “Mr. & Mrs. Linen”.
The event is free and open to the public, but we encourage you to purchase a ticket for a $5-$10 suggested donation. All ticket sales will go to Austin’s public radio music station, KUTX.
