Those who know the Pearl Street Co-op in Austin know it for the chaos and creativity that takes place within. The people who live in this space are an oft, semi-clothed, and wild bunch reveling in seemingly nonstop riotous raves. It was in this artistic environment that David Roseboom decided he needed to commit his life to his music and it was here that Risky Motion was born. Roseboom joined forces with Chris Harrison on drums, Jason Blackmond on bass, Gabriel Borg on guitar, and hand percussion by Ricardo Gonzalez.

Putting the ‘motion’ in Risky Motion, their music is a swirling storm of emotions. “Wide Open,” Risky Motion’s debut album is a mix of psychedelia, funk, groove, and synth. With a sound that is far out yet familiar, this album is comfortable with vulnerability and fear with an atmosphere that is direct, dark, and cryptic.

Risky Motion will be celebrating the release of “Wide Open” with a show at the Empire Control Room & Garage on October 6th. The show will also feature local acts OONI, The Millbrook Estates, Star Parks, and The Matt Gilmour Band.
