Elizabeth Cook 4.9.18

Florida Native Elizabeth Cook was not always a country star. In fact, she graduated from college with an accounting degree and worked in accounting before being offered a music publishing deal. This accountant-turned-Opry star takes the common themes present throughout country music but makes them gritty, real, and funny. Her song “El Camino” talks about a man she knew and his car – his “funky ass car” from 1972. She sings about drug use and relationships and does not shy away from taboo topics or use euphemistic language. She is a seasoned performer at the Grand Ole Opry after having performed there over 400 times, and hosts her own show on Sirius XM. She hopes to release a new album at the beginning of 2019. She is performing tonight at our own Cactus Cafe, she stopped by Studio 1A to perform some of her hits. Take a listen below!
