Austin’s Cotton Mather have been at it since the early 1990s, but they unfortunately went on hiatus shortly after getting a co-sign from Oasis’ Noel Gallagher. Thankfully, they are back with a new album called Death of the Cool. They are bringing back the “ladrock” sound that initially made them famous and this album reminds us of why we fell in love with them in the first place. If you can imagine a bunch of Texans strolling through Liverpool in the 1960s, then you can imagine what this album sounds like. Catch our Studio 1A session with them right here, and they are also throwing an album release show at The Townsend on Friday, September 23.
