Dana Falconberry and Bobby Jealousy at KUTX 9.14.13

Indie pop/folk songstress Dana Falconberry has been hailed as one of the best artists to come through Austin in a long time. Her angelic voice and unique vocal experimentation solidified her as one of Austin’s favorite artists. She left her hometown of Michigan at age 18 to attend Hendrix College in Arkansas, where she discovered the timeless songs of the Ozarks and the Delta, inspiring her to write music. She released her first EP, Paper Sailboat, in 2008, and her most recent album, Leelanau, has received well-deserved rave reviews. Her powerful shows are known to captivate audiences, and we were lucky enough to have her stop by our studio on Saturday, September 14th, for a live performance in our studio.

We’re also excited to have husband/wife band Bobby Jealousy in our studio on Saturday. Bobby Jealousy is made up of Sabrina Ellis and her husband Seth Gibbs, as well as guitarist Brian Patterson and drummer Adam Harlow. The pop/soul/rock band burst onto the scene in 2011, and they have since recorded three full-length albums. Their music may be fun and lively, but one of their self-professed favorite themes is death, a topic that they explore throughout their music. The passionate connection between Ellis (who also fronts band A Giant Dog) and Gibbs is palpable, making for captivating and entertaining live shows. Their most recent album is appropriately called A Little Death. Be sure to catch them when they play the ACL Festival this October!

Both artists were here for our C3 Student Day, and they gave great performances! Take a listen right here.
