Eric D. Johnson has had an impressive longevity in the music industry; he formed the band Fruit Bats in 1997 and has been performing under the moniker since 2001. So when asked by host Jay Trachtenberg why Johnson’s latest album, Gold Past Life, is the “fruit-battiest yet”, Johnson explains, “I think this is the most introspective album, and I don’t know how to explain it other than it’s a distilled version of everything I’ve worked on for the past 20 years.”
Johnson stopped by Studio 1A ahead of his show at 3Ten to give us a glimpse into his seventh album. Check out the live performance and an unaired bonus track below!
