Local band Good Field will quiet your summer worries with the embrace of indie rock.
Starting out as the solo project of Paul Price (Brazos, the Early Tapes, Voxtrot), Good Field eventually came to expand and include Michael McLeod on bass, Kyle Robertson on keys, and Esteban Cruz on drums, filling out their breezy sound. A carefree meeting between dream pop, psychedelic scuzz, and ’60’s love, Good Field’s catchy melodies, warm guitars, and weary abandon came to the fore on 2012’s much talked about self-titled debut. The four-piece is now set to release their sophomore album, Future Me, on July 28th with production helmed by Price and local musician James Petralli (White Denim, Bop English). The band’s first single off of the record, “Business,” is a memorable, matter-of-fact indie rock tune “about making decisions that some people won’t like, but doing it anyways because you have to.”
You can catch Good Field performing live at their album release on July 18th at the Parish and you can stream their full live set right here on KUTX.
