Graham Reynolds and Peter Stopschinski, two of Austin’s most prominent composers and producers of modern classical, jazz, electronic and film music, have established themselves as the joint force known as Golden Hornet Project for over a decade now. Since its conception in 1999, the project – a non-profit organization dedicated to presenting and commissioning the compositions of independent classical musicians with diverse, non-academic backgrounds – has debuted over 60 concerts and counting.
Independently, Graham Reynolds’ portfolio includes his stunning “avant-jazz-rock-classical ensemble” Golden Arm Trio and highly praised score for fellow Austinite Richard Linklater’s film A Scanner Darkly, and his frequent collaborator Peter Stopschinski is founder of the ever-eccentric Brown Whörnet and composer of numerous theatre, film and classical pieces. Reynolds and Stopschinski will be leading Percussion VIII at The Off Shoot this Saturday, August 10th. You can be the first to hear this super-duo’s stimulating Studio 1A performance right here!
