Hayes Carll at KUTX 6.19.13

Hayes Carll, freewheeling country singer/songwriter, has been gaining an ever-expanding audience since the release of his first album, “Flowers and Liquor,” in 2002, though his fame has skyrocketed since his 2008 album, “Trouble in Mind,” garnered numerous accolades. Carll is from The Woodlands, Texas, and he currently calls Austin, Texas home. These days, he’s continuing his tour in support of his hit 2011 album, “KMAG YOYO,” taking his charming on-stage performances everywhere from rock clubs to honky tonk bars.

His fresh wit and unflinching honesty makes him an incredibly talented storyteller, and he brought his music live to our studio on Wednesday, June 19th. You can also catch him co-headlining ACL Live with Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis at The Moody Theater June 22. Be sure to check out his performance audio below, right here at KUTX!
