We’re pretty sure the City of Austin puts something in the water to encourage budding musical talent. Nothing else can explain the bumper crop of extremely talented young musicians currently gigging around the city. At just 20, Hunter Sharpe and his bandmates Marlon Sexton on guitar, Colton Kinkaid on bass, and percussionist Hunter Pierce, are definitely at the top of that list. And it’s not just Austin audiences that taken note, Hunter and band brought their soaring indie rock to stages from N.Y.C. to L.A. and left stunned crowds in their wake. These mad lads stopped by Studio 1A to play a few cuts from their new EP, Forced Landing, before participating in the Texas Spirits 21st Annual Band Jam on 4/21 on the LBJ Lawn at the University of Texas Campus.
