Jimmie Vaughan 5.22.19

For Jimmie Vaughan, ‘the blues’ is more than a genre. It’s a feeling he’s been chasing ever since he picked up a guitar as a kid growing up in 1950s Dallas. “Music is not about what it is labeled, but rather how it makes the listener feel.” On his latest album, Baby, Please Come Home, Vaughan drives the point home by paying tribute to a variety of players who inspired him as a young guitar slinger learning the craft. Whether it’s the foundations of country music in Lefty Frizell’s “No One To Talk To But the Blues” or Gatemouth Brown’s swinging “Midnight Hour”, Jimmie Vaughan breathes life into a new collection of American classics. Vaughan brought an all-star cast of Austin musicians to Studio 1A to play a couple of tracks off the new album and tell us about his two-night album release party at C-Boys Heart & Soul this Friday, May 24th and Saturday, May 25th
