Jon Dee Graham @ KUTX 02.27.2015

Hailed as the “Titan of American songwriters,” local musican Jon Dee Graham is a subtle and powerful performer with a penchant for drawing bears.

Inducted into the Austin Music Hall of Fame three times thus far, Graham has been part of legendary punk band the Skunks, roots-rockers the True Believers in the 1980’s, and has collaborated with and worked alongside artsits such as John Doe, Michelle Shocked,  Calvin Russell,  Alejandro Escovedo, and James McMurtry. Finally releasing his debut solo album Escape from Monster Island in 1997, Jon Dee Graham has continued to release music in his subdued and modest style, showcasing his impeccable guitar skills, gruff voice, tender melodies, and captivating command of language. An adept and heavy user of social media, Graham has been performing house shows across the country in his fans’ homes and last year’s Do Not Forget was a fan-voted collection of live songs spanning the past 17 years.

You can watch Jon Dee Graham performing live at his Wednesday residency at the Continental Club or stream his music right here on KUTX.
