Guitarist and composer Kaki King is known for her lush instrumentals, continuously developing with each release, while remaining consistent in skill and power.
Emerging with her first release Everybody Loves You in the early 2000’s, Kaki King has since gone on to be featured on multiple soundtracks, including Into the Wild and August Rush, playing with artists like Tegan and Sara and the Mountain Goats. Her music plays like a wash of sound that manages to simultaneously be intricate, delicate, and full, the mostly instrumental tracks drawing attention to her distinctive style and technique. Kaki King is set to release her new album, The Neck is the Bridge to the Body, in March, and lead single “The Surface Changes” is an acoustic track that is bare, powerful, and propulsive.
