Brooklyn based vocalist Kat Edmonson is no stranger to the Austin music scene. A Houston native, Edmonson cut her teeth in Austin’s club scene after moving to the city to pursue a career in music. While here Kat released her debut album, Take To The Sky, in 2009 and quickly became an in-demand jazz singer appearing with big Texas acts like Lyle Lovett and Asleep at the Wheel. Ten years and five solo albums later and Kat Edmonson is a star in her own right, headlining international music festivals and licensing her music for major TV shows, movies, and ad campaigns. Kat Edmonson brought the full band to Studio 1A ahead of her appearance at The Paramount Theatre on Wednesday, February 19. Listen to the session below to hear her talk about the new album, Dreamers Do, and how difficult it is to turn big ideas into reality.
