Seasoned musician and singer/songwriter Kim Richey has been releasing albums since her eponymous debut in 1995, and though her music may be categorized as country, she has explored a variety of genres on her albums, exhibiting her openness to exploration. Whether her songs lean more towards twangy pop or classic country, Richey’s voice is consistently pure, arresting, and honest, making for a great listening experience. The Zanesville, Ohio native has roots in Nashville and has worked with some accomplished musicians, including Trisha Yearwood. She has had hits on both country and pop charts, and both genres can be heard on her newest album, “Thorn In My Heart,” which was released earlier this past spring.
