Singer-songwriter Kim Simpson is a man of many talents, one of those being radio hosting. You may recognize his voice as a host of our Folkways program here on KUTX. That’s right, that’s the same Kim Simpson. Simpson moved to Austin in the early ‘90s, where he’s maintained a steady songwriting and recording habit. In 2006, NPR featured his song “Looking for That Girl,” as their song of the day. That same song also reached number one on the LA-based New Music Weekly “Hot AC” chart. Simpson has released several albums, including one this year, called Yours All the Way.
On April 20th, Kim Simpson will play a CD release show at the Cactus Cafe. Today, he dropped by KUTX to play us a couple tunes. Check them out!
