The band Leftover Cuties may have formed in 2008, but they just began making waves in the music world during these past couple of years. Accomplishing the stuff of other musicians’ dreams, these troubadours have had some impressive licensing placements, including their song being featured as the theme song for popular Showtime program “The Big C” and in a catchy ad for Samsung in 2012. Their debut album “Places to Go” was well-received, and their newest album, “The Spark and the Fire” is looking to follow an even more successful path. “Spark” features mesmerizing melodies, tinged with elements of jazz, pop, and folk along with candid, emotional lyrics.
Band members Shirli McAllen (lead vocals, ukulele), Austin Nicholson (bass, vocals), Mike Bolger (brass, keys, accordion, vocals) and Stuart Johnson (drums, percussion, vocals) have embarked on a full-scale North American tour, and you can catch them at Stubb’s inside on August 14th at 8pm. The band also stopped by our Studio 1A on Wednesday, August 14th – you can check out the audio here to take a listen to their great performance!
