Our October Artist of the Month Ley Line live up to their moniker, one that refers to the alignment between historical world monuments, by creating a sound that is truly universal. Raised on blues, folk and soul, the female quartet met as two duos at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in 2013, and reunited in Austin, Texas in 2015. From there, they began weaving their ideas into a collective vision, blending rhythms and influences from Brazil, Latin America, and West Africa into their perfectly synchronized harmonies. Combined with their multilingual performances concerning the peaks and valleys of the human experience, the Austinites have successfully united audiences all around the world.
The Austin-based quartet stopped by Studio 1A to play some songs for our concert club ahead of their appearance at Austin City Limits on October 13th and their show with The Deer at Antone’s on October 18th. Listen to the live performance and an exclusive unaired bonus track below!
