Lloyd Cole @ KUTX 02.10.2015

Scottish singer-songwriter Lloyd Cole has already brought us 30 years-worth of eclectic music.

Beginning his musical career in the 1980’s with the Commotions, releasing the almost legendary album Rattlesnakes before going solo in 1989, Llyod Cole’s repertoire flows with a rare consistency, his voice front and center, his lyrics an intelligent mouthful. However, a musician of diverse output as well, one of Cole’s more recent collaborations was with Hans-Joachim Roedelius, a minimal and melodic offering, engaging his surprising electronic side. His latest and fifteenth album, Standards, apparently inspired by Bob Dylan’s unabashed Tempest and released in late 2014, is a traditional and dark rock ‘n’ roll affair, one which Cole has suggested may be his final mainstream commercial release.

Lloyd Cole will be performing live at the Cactus Café on February 10th and you can stream his music right here on KUTX.
