North Carolina band Mount Moriah plays an exciting brand of folk rock. The band’s sound emphasizes its distinct southern influences, and infuses them with equal parts contemporary and classical hallmarks of the genre. The heart of the band is made up by duo Heather McEntire and Jenks Miller, who share songwriting duties. The pair met working as record store clerks in Chapel Hill, spending their evenings working on songs for Mount Moriah. The band released their debut, self-titled album in 2011, to great reviews across the board. Their follow up album, Miracle Temple, was just released earlier this year and has already earned praise for carrying forward the sound they started on their first release.
