Radney Foster 9.28.17

Radney Foster has been gathering stories to tell, and singing them for us, for the last thirty years. Born and raised on the Mexican-Texan border in Del Rio, his backroads country has always been informed by his deep connection with the Texan landscape. After moving to Tennessee for college, and then to Nashville for music, Foster rose to prominence as part of the duo Foster & Lloyd with musical partner Bill Lloyd. The duo split in 1991, and Foster has been honing his honest, musical storytelling ever since. His latest release, For You To See the Stars, marks his eleventh studio album and first book. The double release is meant as a pair of complimentary art pieces; every short story matches a song on the album. The works inform and expand on each other. Although the stories are fictional, they have a sense of the autobiographical; they span various landscapes, both physical and emotional, in an effort to express the human condition. Radney Foster dropped past Studio 1A to share some of his favorite stories and songs, missed the session? We’ve got you covered right here! Check it out below!
