On January 25th and 27th, Beerthoven will be paying tribute to music of Jewish decent. The music will be performed by Pianist Xin Chang, Baritone David Small (the Professor of Voice of the University of Texas), Cellist Seth Russel, and Clarinetist Luz Sarmiento. Beerthoven is partnering with the Austin Saengerrunde, the singing society that is a tribute to its German roots. The program will feature songs composed by Jewish people who were impactful on German music such as Kindertotenlieder by Gustav Mahler, as well as songs written by those detained in the Theresienstadt concentration camp.
