Star Parks 5.25.16

If there was a soundtrack for those moments between waking up and hearing the alarm go off, this would be it. Austin band Star Parks finds an unlikely match when the folk rock of the late 60s meets celestial dream pop.

Released earlier this month on Paper Trail Records, Star Park’s debut album Don’t Dwell is the brain child of Andy Bianculli, former frontman of Austin band The Preservation. A new project, Star Parks is a drastic deviation from Bianculli’s work as a part of The Preservation – an indie rock band with strong country influence. Instead, Bianculli steps away from the psychedelic sounds of his past for a lighter folk flair, putting Star Parks in camps alongside Dr. Dog and Good Old War.

Quickly becoming a favorite amongst KUTX staff, Star Parks came to visit Studio 1A. Listen to the live performance below. If you like what you hear you can catch them live this Friday May 27th, at the Blackheart celebrating their record release.
