Steve Earle at KUTX 10.18.13

Steve Earle is renowned as the bad boy not of rock, nor country, but somewhere uniquely in between. Instead of adhering to either genre, Earle establishes his own place in music as a prolific roots-rocker with a dedicated following and over a dozen studio albums. A rebel at  heart, Steve Earle is recognized as a musician who refuses to be limited by either genre or subject matter. Indeed, Earle often sings on touchy political topics, but handles such controversies with the same grace and artistry employed in each of his songs.

Steve Earle has won three Grammy awards and his tunes have been recorded by Johnny Cash, Emmylou Harris, Joan Baez and Willie Nelson, just to name a few. Aside from his slew of groundbreaking albums, Earle is author of a novel, I’ll Never Get Out of This World Alive, and even a casual television and film actor. Steve’s latest music release, The Low Highway, is a favorite here at KUTX and we were excited to have him perform in Studio 1A this past Friday! Check it out right here.
