Sydney Wright 9.11.18

West Texas-born Sydney Wright has been creating music for most of her life. Ever since she was a kid she remembers playing both happy songs and sad music on the piano for whoever would listen, whether that be her sisters, babysitters, or even her pets. Since these days she has picked up the guitar and moved to Austin. Wright’s powerful voice often gets her compared to pop artists like Florence and the Machine and Sara Bareilles. But there’s a darker, and much more experimental side to her work. Wright constructs complex live-looping sequences to form her sound. Her recent album Seiche shows us this side of her work. Wright came in to studio 1A to give us taste of her new release. You can listen too down below!
