The Suffers have mastered the art of big band soul and R&B. Not only that, they’ve managed to stir in bits and pieces of jazz, rock, salsa, Cajun soul, and the rest of it to build up a seriously danceable repertoire. Their hometown Houston roots are strong, too, and that Gulf Coast influence is best described by lead singer Kam Franklin: swampy.
