The Wood Brothers make American music. That is to say, they don’t make any one kind of music, they pull from the full spectrum of roots and rock ‘n’ roll to create something totally new but distinctively American. That type of musical exploration isn’t surprising considering upright bassist Chris Wood is a founding member of the jazz/funk fusion outfit Medeski, Martin & Wood and his brother, guitarist Oliver Wood, fronted the hard-touring R&B band, King Johnson. To round out the all-star firepower the brothers recruited multi-instrumentalist Jano Rix to handle percussion duties. Now on their 6th album, One Drop of Truth, The Wood Brothers reassert their status as one of the best roots rocks groups playing today.
