Walker Lukens is wonderfully inventive, completely refreshing and sounds unlike anything else on the dial. Born in Houston, based in Austin, the alternative singer-songwriter released his first album in 2013. After meeting Spoon’s Jim Eno at a bar the pair began collaborating in the studio. Walker’s latest release, Tell It To The Judge, is the third brain-child of this pairing. The album has a caffeinated shaggy-pop vibe, the sort of geared up do-wop slapback that makes Walker so unique. His tracks are thick with hard-strummed guitars and indie-rock crooning; and the entire album is layered with a stylistically fuzzy production. Walker brought himself and his backing band, The Side Arms, to Studio 1A ahead of his release show at Waterloo Records. Missed the session? Don’t worry we’ve got you covered, check it out below!
