Will Courtney 6.22.16

Six months. I have a theory that’s how long it takes to get fully acclimated after settling down in a new place. The weather, the food, the local nuances, you can hate them all with a fiery passion, but on day 182, they all seem a little more tolerable. Rinse, wash, repeat and after moving enough times, it becomes hard to stay still. Folk artist Will Courtney paints this turmoil beautifully in new album Planning Escapes. The new release captures the contrast of the optimism of a traveler’s fresh start and the struggle of finding the groove of a new place. It’s an album for the nostalgia of summers past and the road trips that are yet to come.

Former frontman of Brothers and Sisters, Will Courtney, is by no means a new face in Austin. After five cities and a few years, Courtney has returned home to Austin ready to release brand new album Planning Escapes, available on July 15th. You can see Will Courtney and The Wild Bunch this Friday June 24th at the North Door or at their official album release show on July 1st at Hotel Vegas.
