The Wind & the Wave are a “happy accident” that have grown into a full-fledged band.
The Austin-based duo consisting of Dwight Baker (the wind) and Patricia Lynn (the wave) create a propulsive indie-folk rendition complete with a drop of sweet pop melodies, percussive clapping, and a clear, energetic vocal delivery. After meeting in 2009, the Wind & the Wave’s debut album From the Wreckage, a collection of songs with a touch of country and rock, was released this past summer. Their latest EP, “Covers One,” inspired by their musical contributions to the drama Grey’s Anatomy, delivers a sincere venture into the world of covers, featuring songs by a diverse array of artists, including Stevie Nicks, Sia, R. Kelly, and Regina Spektor.
You can catch the Wind & the Wave performing live on the 21st of March at Little Woodrow’s, and you can stream their music live right here on KUTX.
