Wolf Parade visited Studio 1A to play a few songs off of Cry Cry Cry, their first album in seven years. Despite the hiatus, the passion in the music is palpable and feels as if it has been brewing during all those years. The bright guitar and synth paired with the contemplative lyrics gives the music a hopeful undertone. In addition to a sold-out show at Mohawk on Jan. 29, Wolf Parade stuck around for an after-party following the concert. The band hosts these parties “to make the tour more meaningful” and to raise money for different charities. This also gives them the opportunity to play music from their side projects, Moonface and Frankfurt Boys. Listen to their full session below.
