In the video for “All Across This Land”–the title track to Blitzen Trapper’s eighth album–the band cram into a van and take off for an American road trip. It’s an apt metaphor for the Portland, Oregon group. Since 2000, Blitzen Trapper has packed a lot of ideas and genres into its unabashedly-American music, drawing on classic country but roughing it up with enough anarchic rock ‘n’ roll for all your air guitar needs.
For a band that’s written a lot of incredible jams, “All Across This Land” might be Blitzen Trapper’s best. Somehow they make old-school boogie-rock, Led Zeppelin guitar heroics, and a beautiful cosmic country breakdown all fit together. Download a Studio 1a version of the song below.
