Many horror stories become our favorite laughbale memories thanks to the gift of time, and Austin alt-rock pop group BOO85 (boo-eighty-five) articulate this well in their new single “Funny Story,” where the mantra is “sit with it, laugh at it, relinquish it.” Emphasized with layered, catchy pop-rock hooks, Go-Go’s -like vocals and harmonies and enough “Men’s doesn’t control me” cheekiness to rectify bucal-fat-removal regret, this one has “song of the summer” potential for those newly healed or needing that “aha” moment to relaize that you’ve fully moved on.
BOO85 have a single release show this Thursday at Valhalla on Red River and another show Saturday, June 6th at Radio South.
