After two years of live being a live-performance-only trio FreeBloo&theFreak, made of Free Hamze, Kardinal Bloo, and Locuust, have released their debut album. The Fathoming is power-packed, no-skips, and bursting with the group’s self-coined Class Conscious Rap Nonsense. “Rotary Phone” is like the sonic soul flame to OddFuture, but the lyrical antithesis: a celebration of trans women, a call to the proletariat, and a no-holds-barred take on the state of things.
FreeBloo&theFreak play a record release show tomorrow, October 3rd, at the Hole In the Wall.
