Over the next two weeks, the Song of the Day features SXSW 2016 artists.
The end of the band the Couch a few years ago was bittersweet for San Marcos and Austin fans, but the split has resulted in two solid local bands. Following hot on the heels of their compadres in Löwin, Otis The Destroyer just dropped Belushi, an EP that’s as big and boisterous as its name would suggest. It cuts to the chase with “Fight,” an uncompromising slice of hard rock which only gets heavier onstage. The band stopped by our Studio 1A last week for an after-hours set that had us all headbanging with glee. Listen to a live version of “Fight” below and destroy your ears with a few of their SXSW shows.
