All this week, the Song of the Day spotlights artists performing at SXSW 2017.
Rainbrother is a five-piece outfit hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark that’s hitting its first SXSW just a few months after opening for Big Thief. On its debut album, Tales From The Drought, the Danish band strikes a vein of psychedelic folk-rock that sounds easygoing but hints at darker depths. “Blue” coasts on the kind of eerie, backwoods vibe that Midlake used to excel at, but Rainbrother sounds (dare I say) cloudier. Rain, drought, blue–the watery imagery fits well on this fluid, forward-flowing song.
“Blue” appears on Tales From The Drought, out now.
