Sherry (FKA Caterwaulrus) is the brainchild of former Austinite John Michael Sherry. Now calling Brooklyn home, he’s spent the last couple of years in a state of introspection, reinventing his sound to dress contemplative, straightforward lyrics in various catchy-yet-complex textures of sound. Ironically, this sunny, summer jam is is about being bored and the fear of losing yourself from lack of varied stimulation. Flanked with a new band and fitted with a bright, indie sound cherried with notes of psychedelia, Sherry hits the road this week in support of their debut album.
“Sunday” appears on Not Brandy, Not Whiskey, out Saturday via Sherry’s BandCamp.
Tune-in TONIGHT AT 9 to hear Sherry live in Studio 1A with Jack Anderson, and see them kick-off their tour Saturday at the Mohawk with the Halfways, Megafauna, and Smile.
