Despite the name, The Hermits have been out and about on the local music scene for some time. Lead songwriter, guitarist and vocalist Miles Kelley, originally put together a group called Milezo some years back with childhood friends and longtime Austin-based collaborators (including drummer Sam Jordan). Following a lineup change Kelley remained at the forefront of a new group, The Upper Deck Pets – this time with bassist & live-sampler Chase Weinacht joining the band. Now Kelley’s dynamic dream-pop psych-rock inspired songwriting has assumed a new form – The Hermits.
The Hermits’ debut EP Tour Tape was released last year and you can expect a full-length album release in 2018. The Hermits perform as part of Saturnalia Festival – Saturday, December 2nd 2pm at the Sahara Lounge.
